Background

March 8, 2023

To Garner ISD Community,

The Garner ISD Board of Trustees voted to call for a $15.4 million bond package for the
May 6, 2023, Election. Over the past several months, the board met to assess and
prioritize critical areas of focus; the consensus was then to recommend that Garner ISD
call a bond for the following:

• New Cafeteria/Kitchen; will serve as a Storm Shelter
• Multipurpose Gymnasium

The Board of Trustees also called for a proposition for a bond up to $3 million to
purchase land for future needs should land become available within the district’s
boundaries.

The district’s financial advisor has determined that there would be a 28.5¢ cent tax rate
impact to finance the bonds. We are asking every citizen to be educated about the bond. It is important to have your voice heard during this election. Remind your friends, neighbors, and relatives to get involved and ask questions.

Garner ISD residents will have the opportunity to vote on the Bond Referendum
beginning with early voting April 24- May 2, and on Election Day, May 6, 2023.
Please visit the district website for more information on how this will impact you.

Informational Town Hall Meetings are scheduled for:

  • Monday, April 17th at 6:30 pm in the school cafeteria
  • Thursday, April 27th at 6:30 pm in the school cafeteria
